More Portuguese Knitting! with Teri Zipf

For those who may have just learned to knit Portuguese style and are ready to stretch their wings. We will talk about and practice techniques for lace and stranded color knitting. We'll also discuss when, how, and whether to adapt a given pattern to this technique. Students may bring any project, or prospective project, and get tips on how to proceed. Please also bring your questions and curiosity! Instructor will provide handouts and with resources for further exploration.

Skill Level: Students should be comfortable knitting and purling Portuguese style.

Cast on about 30 stitches using the yarn and needles of your choice. Knit about 4 rows in stockinette (knit one row, purl the next) and bring this to class—this will be used to practice techniques. Also bring a second color yarn of your choice to practice stranded knitting.
